Investor’s Business Daily: Holder Lies Again
Earlier this week Investor’s Business Daily called for Eric Holder to go in a piece titled “Holder Lies Again.”This piece pulls no punches, and offered this thought:
Scandal: Refusing to apologize to the family of a border patrol killed by a gun “walked” into Mexico, the attorney general hides his prior knowledge and blames Congress for not pushing gun control.
Holder must reside in a parallel universe with an alternate and quite flexible timeline. His recollection of what he knew and when he knew it must depend on the meaning of “knew.”
And IBD brings up another point that few in the media have touched upon:
Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano, who says the border is as secure as it’s ever been, a frightening statement, said she never discussed the matter with Holder — when it should have been high on the agenda at the next cabinet meeting.
IBD is not the sort of news outlet that makes wild accusations and yet it offered this thought too:
Indeed, we have argued that Gunrunner and its offshoot, Fast and Furious, made no sense unless it was deliberately intended to increase violence in Mexico with U.S. firearms as a predicate for pursuing more gun control and the shredding of our 2nd Amendment rights.
This is something that is truly disturbing but even the mainstream media sees that this could very much be a gun control effort gone very bad.
Who Guards the Guards: Homeland Security Loses Guns
USA Today posted a story that makes us truly ask again, who guards the guards. In fact, the people who at the frontlines of the war on terror maybe helping criminals instead as the paper reports:
“The nation’s Homeland Security officers lost nearly 200 guns in bowling alleys, public restrooms, unlocked cars and other unsecure areas, with some ending up in the hands of felons. The problem, outlined in a new federal report, has prompted disciplinary actions and extra training.”
The article further notes that more than a dozen guns, including pistols, shotguns and “military rifles” ended up in the hands of gang members! This is a concern both for the security of our borders, but also because it is putting guns on the street. Anti-gun zealots should also take note that NONE of these guns were ever actually legally owned by private citizens, and didn’t need straw purchases or gun show loopholes to get in the hands of some very bad people.
