PressConnects.com Says “Disagreement” on Second Amendment
Once again the issue of what is meant by the Second Amendment is brought up. The news site PressConnects.com is trying to cause a debate, but they start out by offering some biased information:
“There is disagreement as to whether the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, due to the part referring to a ‘well regulated Militia,’ means that only in the context of being part of a militia can an American own guns or if the Amendment guarantees the unqualified right of Americans to own guns and implies that it is because they may have to be part of a state militia. Either way there is agreement that, like every part of the Constitution; the Second Amendment is not an absolute right. It is acknowledged; the Federal and state governments have the right to impose restrictions on who may own guns and also as to the nature of the guns they may own.” Read more
Will Finland Impose Gun Control?
The Finish people know the importance of gun ownership. It was in part because of those privately own guns, and the culture of sport shooting in the land that helped fend off a Soviet war of aggression in the winter of 1939-40. Today shooting remains a popular sport in the nation, so much so that the right to bear arms is enshrined in the country’s constitution. Sadly, that may change following two tragic shootings. Armed Police Patrols Up in London
The mainstream media in the United States typically reports that the U.K. has less gun crime, and often cites the fact that the police on the other side of the pond go around sans firearms. But the BBC is reporting that gun crime is on the rise.
This is worth noting, because ownership of firearms is strictly controlled. So to those gun-control types we ask, “where are the bad guys getting their guns?”
