New American: Is Obama Second Term About Gun Control

Could it be that President Obama and others in his administration are playing the cards close to their chest on the topic of gun control, secretly waiting for a “second term” to let slip their gun control agenda?
That’s the topic of an article this week on The New American website, which notes:
“In 2012, were the American people to go to the ballot box and deposit their vast political capital in the account of Barack Obama, the word is that he will use it to fund a vigorous anti-gun crusade.
“On Friday, John Bolton, former Ambassador to the United Nations, intimated that a second Obama term would see the inauguration of an aggressive gun-control agenda.”
As one comment notes, this could be in line with the Obama team’s strategy of never letting a crisis go to waste. The crisis this time is the guns in Mexico. Thus the problem would be the guns from America going to Mexico, the reaction would be the call for gun control, and the solution would be a ban on sales in the United States. And if done right, many citizens would hail it as a great move.
So will Obama really make gun control a campaign issue, or will he “wait” until a second term to let loose with his gun control agenda? Let’s hope that either way there is no second term or chance for this to happen.
