Who Guards the Guards: D.C. Cops’ Guns Not Safely Stored

In a blog post on The Washington Post website, it was noted, “D.C. police guns poorly secured.” The post stated:

“According to a new report by the D.C. inspector general, police in the District are unable to ensure that service weapons brought into the juvenile intake center are kept out of the wrong hands because many of the lockboxes used to store the firearms do not work.”

In our nation’s capital it remains difficult for law-abiding citizens to legally obtain a firearm, but criminals could steal police weapons? Is this really America?
