Who Guards the Guards: Councilman and Cop Caught With Machine Guns

We wish this we’re an April Fools joke, or at least the opening of a silly joke, but a City Councilman was indicted with a former police chief. John Henry Parker even had an interesting tale to tell, reports the Texarkana Gazette:
“An east Arkansas city councilman pleaded guilty Tuesday to illegally possessing an unregistered machine gun, telling a federal judge that he had the weapon because he was working on it for the local police department.”
Parker, reports the paper, was indicted along with former Wheatley police chief Dallas Edward Brogdon, and prosecutors say the pair was using the department as a front to buy machine guns. What is so unbelievable about this is that the pair could have applied for licenses to own such guns, and as a members of local government and more importantly law enforcement they should have known better!
