WaPo Editorial Called News Feature

How often are words such as “restrict” and “weaken” used to describe laws in a news feature? Actually a lot, but usually it comes from a source, and it should never be the opinion of the author of the article. But that didn’t stop The Washington Post from opening with this juicy sentiment:

“Legislation introduced in Congress on Tuesday would weaken the District’s gun-control laws and restrict the D.C. Council from regulating firearms.”

The article further offers a biased take on the issue by quoting Joshua Horwitz, executive director of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. We expect WaPo to be anti-gun, but we didn’t expect this level of anti-gun bias.
