Supreme Court Issues 2nd Amendment Ruling Today

For over a year Firearms Truth has been reporting on the conflict between gun rights and gun control advocates who have battled it out in America’s courtrooms. In D.C. v Heller, the Supreme Court ruled that gun control laws in the District of Columbia violated the 2nd Amendment’s right to keep and bare arms. This earlier case only applied to Federal land. Today, in a 5-4 decision, The Court is expected to extend to the states the constitutional protection that citizens exercise on government land.
It is too early to celebrate now. Despite the Heller ruling, the District of Columbia is being accused of not honoring the mandate set by The Court. But all freedom loving Americans can feel good that their rights can’t be trampled on by rogue politicians who manipulate voter’s emotions for their own gain. It’s not surprising to learn that the cities with the strictest gun laws have the highest gun violence. Today, the highest court in the land is restoring law abiding citizens something most people of the world can’t enjoy. Thank God for America.
