Sovereign Society Offers Insight on International Gun Laws

While the purpose of a post from Mark Nestmann for the Sovereign Society was to explain importation laws, and he noted that the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States does not apply to other nations, the piece is worth reading as he notes some interesting insight about gun laws in other nations.

For example:

“In Austria and Switzerland, every law-abiding citizen has a legal right to buy handguns, although you must first obtain a license.  Numerous Swiss cantons permit anyone possessing a firearms license to carry a concealed handgun.”

There is a fact that is often lost on the mainstream media. So too is the fact that in Mexico it is “difficult to legally own a firearm larger than .22 caliber.” The latter fact makes you wonder whether anti-zealots on this side of the border consider that fact.

The country is embroiled in a war between drug cartels, and yet legal ownership of most firearms is restricted. But somehow, and for some reason, the criminals don’t follow those laws.
