Richmond Virginia Sees Gun Rights Rally At Capitol

Hundreds of gun rights advocates rallied today at the Capitol in Richmond Virginia. The rally was organized to support laws that would make it easier to get a concealed handgun permit and allow the permits in more places throughout Virginia.
Rally goers are upset that two more Democrats have been put on a key committee that hears all gun bills. In the past, Democrats, included former Gov. Tim Kaine, have passed restrictions on gun rights that many in Virginia see as going too far. They hope current Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell, who took office on Saturday, will repeal some of the restrictions. McDonnell supports gun rights.
Rally goers want to repeal laws that limits gun purchases to one a month, prohibits concealed guns on school property, courthouses and restaurants and to make it easier to get a concealed carry permit.
