Firearms Sales Slow, Media Widely Ignores It

Reuters is reporting that U.S. firearms maker Smith & Wesson saw its third-quarter sales fall short, and further noted that the company’s fourth quarter (which is ending this month) could also have a weak top line growth. This is notable because it suggests that gun sales could be slowing.
But is anyone in the mainstream media picking up on this fact? We haven’t seen it. The MSM was only too quick to report about robust sales after President Obama was elected and later took office. But now 14 months later the media is mum on the slowdown. Bad news for gun makers seems to be no news for the media. Imagine if the auto industry, airline industry or just about any other segment of the economy saw a decline? It would probably lead the nightly news, but with guns, the only time the MSM wants to cover it is when they can point out the worst – and in this case, falling gun sales aren’t bad enough for them to report on it.
