Chicago’s Daley: Guns Is Not the Answer to Problems

Even after an elderly man in Chicago used a gun to defend his wife and himself, all Chicago Mayor Richard Daley could offer was such anti-gun venom that it makes us wonder if he lives in a fantasy land. According to ABC News.com, the mayor offered this choice quote (complete with grammatical error):

“I understand the situation and I understand. What I’m saying is all of us have to understand that guns is not [sic] the answer to problems we see in homes and on the streets of America. It’s just as simple as that.”

OK, can it be any clearer that criminals will intend to do bad things, and that for those in harms way they should have the option to defend their homes and loved ones? Maybe Daley should walk a day through Chicago’s rougher neighborhoods without his security detail and no gun and tell if he thinks guns still aren’t the answer.

The above quote is good. Daley should walk around defenseless in neighborhoods where people live in fear for their lives and are forbidden to protect themselves. He is like Rummy who sent our soldiers out to run over IEDs, but did not go for some of those rides. The arrogant elite do not care for common people, just themselves and their agendas. Daley has the arrogance of Il Duce.
