Chicago Mayor Has Choice Words on Guns

Maybe harsh words are the “Chicago way.” Making its way throughout the mainstream media and blogosphere are Chicago Mayor Richard Daley’s comments following the shooting of an off-duty police officer in response to a reporter who questioned the effectiveness of the city’s handgun ban. As noted by FoxNews.com:
“Oh, it’s been very effective,” Daley said, according to MyFoxChicago.com. “If I put this up your butt, you’ll find out how effective it is. If I put a round up your … you’ll know.”
But actually, isn’t Daley incorrect? If the law was effective then the off-duty officer, who happened to have recently returned from a tour in Iraq, would still be alive. This should be proof that bans are actually ineffective.
