WaPo Calls for “Sensible Gun Laws”

Well, I agree with E.J. Dionne Jr. of The Washington Post on one point in his op-ed piece “Beyond the NRA’s absolutism.” The guns laws today aren’t sensible. He thinks that the NRA and other pro-firearms groups are pushing to give guns to anyone, but as a resident of New Yorker I have to face facts, my Second Amendment rights are violated and I have little chance of seeing this change. According to Dionee:

“But imagine if NRA members were more reasonable than the organization’s leaders and supporters in Congress in understanding the urgency of keeping guns out of the wrong hands.”

Well, imagine if New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg were more reasonable and made it so it wasn’t expensive and nearly impossible for law abiding citizens to legally own what is guaranteed by the Second Amendment!

Absolutely, there is no way to obtain a permit in nyc, never mind the cost, they just turn you down with no explanation for doing so. I know this first hand. DENIED by other reason, two times, and that was years ago, today no way for the average law abiding citizen to get one, no way no how. REASON – OTHER!
