MSM Takes Aim With Anti-Gun Hyperbole

When the topic of firearms comes up the mainstream media loves to take pot shots – and see how easy it is to do! The problem is that this clever writing often is so filled with hyperbole and exaggerations that it misses the intended target. Some examples came out this week’s editorials over the proposed legislation introduced to the senator by Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.):

The Los Angeles Times introduction:

“The nation dodged a bullet Wednesday. In a rare defeat for the powerful gun lobby, the Senate routed an amendment that would have federalized concealed-weapons laws by forcing all states that issue such permits to gun owners to honor those granted by other states. States with strict rules regarding concealed firearms, such as California, essentially would have had their laws nullified by states with lax rules.”

The New York Daily News headline:

“Shoot it down: Senate must kill amendment that would dangerously gut gun laws”

Clever headlines just further show how biased the MSM really is on the topic of firearms.
