More Vocal Bias From Canadian Mainstream Media

At Firearmstruth.com we thought it was only the American press that was so staunchly biased against guns, but the Canadian mainstream media seems just as bad. The Vancouver Sun didn’t pull any punches with this editorial headline:
“Scrapping long-gun registry is pandering to vocal minority”
The editorial rants and raves about how any gun can be used by criminals – which is true – but of course fails to address how this affects the majority of users, who are law abiding citizens. The irony is that the editorial even offers evidence in opposition of the opinion:
“Non-restricted weapons have the easiest possession and licensing requirements and include rifles and shotguns normally used for hunting and pest and predator control.
“The other categories — which would still have to be registered — are restricted firearms such as handguns and semi-automatic weapons; and prohibited weapons, such as automatic weapons (sometimes called machine-guns) or converted automatic weapons.”
So what’s the big deal? Are those hunters and other gun owners really in a vocal minority? And if so, where are those who are opposed to this law being overturned? It is clear in America at least that the majority actually do most of the speaking, so maybe The Vancouver Sun meant to say “vocal majority.” But who knows?
