Hartford Courant Editor Doesn’t Hide Dislike of Guns

In an un-bylined editorial from the Hartford Courant this week, the writer went straight for the headshot in his/her dislike of firearms:

“It was a rare good day for Americans who are sick of gun violence and favor sane laws to regulate firearms.”

And the true colors were shown with the kicker:

“We hope it’s a sign of gun control votes to come.”

While the writer clearly expressed pleasure at the failure of the so-called “concealed weapons bill,” the disturbing part is that this is yet another mainstream media writer who hopes to see more gun control. So while an editorial doesn’t need to be fair and balanced, or even handed, the closing line just shows that this paper in all likelihood can’t be trusted to report on the topic fairly.
