Guns Used in Crime Easy to Trace

The mainstream media continues to report, “all illegal guns had to be legally sold at one point,” but the problem with this logic is that it fails to address how easy it is to trace many firearms. This isn’t just with advanced “CSI” type technology either, but it is a simple matter of ballistics. In other words, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that firearms can be traced.

This weekend The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that a fair number of guns used in crime could be traced to one source, a local gun store. In fact, the paper notes, “In the past five years, the store accounted for 21 of the 27 cases prosecuted.” These were likely the result of straw purchases, something that the MSM has been quite concerned about, but as this article points out, tracing illegal firearms isn’t so hard to do? So why again are law abiding citizens meant to be punished for the crimes of criminals?
