British Police Arrest Seven In Gun Crackdown

European countries like Britain have some of the toughest anti-firearms laws in the world. And yet criminals still find a way of getting illegal weapons to further their criminal enterprises. Today, Merseyside Police raided a series of addresses in Huyton as part of an ongoing crackdown on gun crime. Huyton is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley, in Merseyside, England.
Besides guns, officers seized drugs valued at 20,000 pounds, scrambler motorcycles and discovered a cannabis farm. The scramblers had been used in a number of shooting incidents.
Despite tough gun laws, British criminals find ways to get firearms. Law-abiding citizens have no way to protect themselves from gun violence and have to hope that a stiff upper lip is enough of a deterrent to fend off an armed criminal.
