Ammo Shortage? Perception is Reality

As the far-left wing of the liberal Democratic party continues to advance its agenda in Washington D.C., firearms advocates and owners are bracing for the worst. Rumors, conspiratorial e-mails, coupled with a lack of clear communication on the part by the current administration regarding its policies on gun control have sent gun owners scurrying to stock up on ammunition. From the mid-west to the great plains, from Idaho to New Mexico, ammunition is in short supply and prices are rising faster than the price of a gallon of gasoline.
A recent visit to a Wal-Mart in rural Eaton, Ohio seems to bear this out. A small notice posted in the sporting goods section informed customers that sales of ammunition was limited to six boxes per client. That was the good news. The bad news was that the shelves were devoid of almost every caliber with no indication that the shelves would be restocked. As the economic downturn continues and the Obama administration continues to appear be moving the country in the direction of a quasi-socialist, nanny-state, gun owners seem to have legitimate concerns. They are speaking with their wallets and purchasing ammo just in case. With almost certain hyper-inflation in the near future, coupled with rising costs of almost every commodity, could ammo turn out to be the currency of the new millennium?
