Huffington Post Writer Wants More Gun Laws

Huffington Post writer Dennis A. Henigan takes aim at the argument that “We don’t need new gun laws. We need to enforce the laws we have.” He claims this doesn’t go far enough. When addressing the point of new laws to prevent American guns from traveling south to Mexico he writes:

“But why should we limit our efforts to finding the assault weapons hidden in autos heading for the border and then arresting and prosecuting the traffickers? Wouldn’t it be more effective to bar dealers from selling assault weapons to prevent the traffickers from getting the guns in the first place?”

Well, what about the American gun owners? And could Mr. Henigan please describe exactly what is, or is not, an assault weapon. Part of the complaint of many gun owners is that the laws are vague on exactly what makes a firearm and “assault weapon.” In my mind Mr. Henigan really means anything that is a gun is an assault weapon, and what he is really calling for is a complete ban of all guns.
